As India covers an enormous area of land and a very long history, it has an abundant historical heritage. There are still numerous yet to be registered sites apart from the list of 37 already registered sites below. Since India has been eagerly applying for new registrations recently, it will be a UNESCO great heritage country before long. There are two categories of World Heritage: Cultural and Natural. This website introduces only architectural cultural heritage , written in bold letters. |
