The Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem
Though the original dome was made of copper finished with gold leaves,
it has been now remade of steel finished with aluminium including gold.
The smaller Dome of the Chain was under repair when I visited.
This place is called 'Temple Mount' because of Solomon's Temple once stood
on this place of worship to Jewish god Yahveh (Jehovah) in the 10th century B.C.E.

The Temple was destroyed in the 6th century B.C.E., and then
reconstructed by Persians, the 'Second Temple', which was enlarged
by the King Herod 20 years later, so it is called 'Herod's Temple'.
It was completely destroyed by Roman Empire through the Jewish War.

The left brown roofed building is the palace, where Al Aqsa Mosque would be built.)
