The most famous Kunda (stepped cistern), Ram(a) Kund (originally Surya Kunda),
attached to the Surya (Sun God) Temple, Modhera.
Its scale is 52.8m x 36m, with about 70 small shrines scattered along the steps.
This would have been used not only for ablution but also for religious ceremonies.
