Chakra Yantra (Equatorial Instrument) in the Jaipur Observatory
The circle of 1.8 meters in diameter is said to be made of an alloy
from seven sorts of metals. When looking through a small tube
penetrated in the central hole and focusing on a star, the metal circle shows
the angle with the earth axis. The hemispherical holes on the front and
rear ground are Kapâla (Hemispherical Bowl Instruments).
In the background can be seen Râm Yantra (Altitude/Azimuth Instruments).
